The nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College softball team split with Finger Lakes Community College on Saturday afternoon in Canandaigua. The Lazers move to 22-12 as a result while Finger Lakes moved to 13-13.
Game One: Onondaga 3, Finger Lakes 4 Lea Newman would stake the Lazers to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first after leading off with a double and eventually coming around to score on a Finger Lakes' error.
The Lakers would tie the score at one run apiece in the home half of the first, only to give a run back in the second when

With the Lazers leading 2-1 in the third inning, Finger Lakes would take the lead on a two-run triple to make it 3-2 but Onondaga would battle back, tying to the game at 3-3 on an RBI-single by Neadom.
After playing to a scoreless sixth inning, Finger Lakes would score on a walk-off single to earn the one-run win, 4-3.
Elizabeth Jackson was credited with the loss after going the distance and allowing four runs on nine hits.
Game Two: Onondaga 5, Finger Lakes 1 The Lazers jumped all over The Laker's starting pitcher in the first inning plating four runs on three hit with the big blow coming as a three-run homerun by
Sammi Loveless.
Finger Lakes would notch its only run of the game in the fourth inning before the Lazers scored their fifth run of the contest in the fifth inning after coming up with three hits including a lead-off double by
Chantel Hammond.
Brittney Sears earned her 11th win of the season (11-4) after throwing a complete-game. Sears allowed one run on six hits.
No. 8 Onondaga will return to the diamond at 4 p.m. on Tuesday when it hosts Cayuga Community College at the Softball Complex.
