The nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College softball team would combine to score 32 runs in a doubleheader sweep of visiting SUNY Delhi on Saturday at Onondaga's Softball Complex.
With the wins, the No. 8 Lazers improve to 21-11 while SUNY Delhi drops to 2-12.
Game One: SUNY Delhi 0, Onondaga 17Onondaga would jump all over the Broncos' starter, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the first inning on three hit with the big blow coming in the form of a three-run homerun by
Brittney Sears.
The Lazers would extend their advantage to 11 runs in the second inning after scoring four more runs on four hits and a pair of walks.
The home team would push three more runs across the plate in the third and fourth innings en route to a 17-0 mercy-rule win.
Nine different players would collect at least one hit with
Samantha Moon,
Morgan Neadom and Sears each picking up three RBI in the win.
Elizabeth Jackson and
Hailie Lehman would combine to pitch five innings of scoreless ball. Jackson did not allow a hit in three innings of work and struck out four.
Game Two: SUNY Delhi 3, Onondaga 15The Lazers continued to pepper Delhi's pitching and would plate five runs in the first inning after belting five hits with

Jess Rodriguez and Sears each collecting an RBI in the process.
After plating one more run in the second inning, the Broncos would battle back, scoring two runs over the first two innings to make it 6-2 in favor of the Lazers.
Onondaga would load the bases in the third inning and would go on to score three unearned runs thanks to an infield error by SUNY Delhi to make it 9-2.
Onondaga scored two more runs in the fourth inning when
Sammi Loveless led off with a double and quickly advanced to third after
Kyra Hunsinger sacrificed her over. As the inning continued,
Whitney Smith and Rodriguez would each pick up a run batted in to give Onondaga an 11-2 lead.
Delhi scored a single run in the fourth but would surrender three in the fifth to Onondaga after the Lazers belted four hits including a two-run single by
Caitlin Wormuth to claim a 15-3 lead and the win.
Sears was credited with the win and edged her season record to 10-4 after going four innings and allowing three runs.
The Lazers will return to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday when they visit Finger Lakes Community College for a doubleheader in Canandaigua.
