17 players recorded a point as the top-ranked Onondaga Community College men's lacrosse team extended its own NJCAA record for consecutive wins across all sports with its 100th straight win after beating host Monroe Community College, 26-0, on Saturday in Rochester.
The win capped a perfect regular season for the No. 1 Lazers at 13-0 while the Tribunes fall to 8-6 on the season.
The shutout marked the third time this season that the Lazers have held their opponent scoreless and extended Onondaga's scoring margin to 298-36.
Matt Bennett led the way with a game-high eight points on four goals and four assists while fellow attackman,
Sean Lattimore, finished with three goals and two helpers.Â
Kyle Killen had four goals in the win and
Seth Leonard had two goals and three assists.Â
Nicholas Garbarino and
Max Bosworth had three points apiece for Onondaga.Â
Sam Watts,
Parrish Young,
Tom Koster,
Tyler Griffo,
Jack Centore and
Nathan Maracle each found the back of the net once.Â
The Lazers controlled the pace throughout and outshoot the Tribunes by a hefty margin, 80-12. Onondaga forced Monroe into 34 total turnovers and was quicker to the ball as well, scooping up 28 more groundballs over the course of the game.
After jumping out to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter, the Lazers net seven more in the second including tallies from Latimore and Bennett and came just 13 seconds apart.
Coming out of the halftime recess, the Lazers continued to overwhelm the Tribunes' defense, scoring just seven seconds into the second half when Watts won one of his nine draws and took it all the way to pay-dirt as part of a 3-0 run in the stanza.
Onondaga would go on to score five more goals in the contest en route to the shutout.

All three of Onondaga's keepers saw time in net with
Holden McDonald earning his 11th win of the season after making three saves.Â
Sean Rhodes and
Jack Sweeney combined for 30 shutout minutes in between the pipes.
Onondaga will begin its quest for another Region III title at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at David W. Murphy Field with its opponent to be announced late Sunday evening.
