The nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College women's basketball team ran its winning streak to 12 straight games and clinched the Mid-State Athletic Conference regular season title after trouncing Tompkins Cortland Community College, 85-29, on Wednesday night in Dryden.

With the win, Onondaga, which ranked third in the latest NJCAA national poll, improves to 22-4 and 10-0 in the conference standings while the Panthers fall to 6-16 overall and 2-9 against MSAC opponents.

After starting the game on a 19-2 run, the Lazers would surrender five points before reeling off eight unanswered to hold a 27-7 lead.

Onondaga would step on the gas as the half wore on, eventually taking a 41-16 lead into the locker room at the break.

As the second half got underway, the Lazers would continue to pull away after using another 8-0 run while holding the Panthers scoreless for nearly five minutes.

After swapping baskets, the visiting Lazers' offense erupted with 20 straight points highlighted by a four-point play from
Samantha Roberts to hold a commanding 53-point advantage, 73-20.

Onondaga would stretch its lead to as many as 56 points before the final horn sounded signaling the end to an 85-29 win.

Roberts finished with a game-high 19 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds while
Kumba Marong added her 11th double-double of the season with 16 points and 15 boards.Â
Alisia Griffin netted 13 points and
Brittany Anderson contributed 12 points in the win.Â

Onondaga will conclude its regular season at 1 p.m. on Saturday when it hosts Finger Lakes Community College in Allyn Hall. The Lazers will celebrate the sophomore class prior to tip-off.
