Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lazers Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play with Win Over Corning

The Onondaga Community College women's soccer team erupted for a season-high 46 shot as the Lazers dropped Corning Community College, 5-0, Wednesday afternoon at David W. Murphy Field.

With the win, the Lazers improve to 7-3-1 on the season and remain unbeaten in conference play with four wins.  Corning slips to 0-2 in the conference standings and 0-6 overall.
After failing to score a goal in its last game, Onondaga wasted no time getting on the board against the Red Barons.  Brie Fabrize put the Lazers up 1-0 in the 12th minute after booting home the pass from Sara Yonta.

Minutes later, the Lazers were at it again when Jaycee Annable lifted a pass in front of the net that Bridget Field deposited into the back of the cage to stretch their lead to 2-0.

Onondaga controlled the pace for the remainder of the first half, but was unable to add to its lead despite outshooting Corning 26-2 at intermission.

Onondaga began to distance itself from Corning early on in the second half when Rachael Gac tallied her second goal of the season in the 55th minute with Gretchen Kryzkowski picking up an assist on the play.

The Lazers would make it 4-0 less than seven seconds later as Fabrize notched her second goal of the afternoon on the pass from Kayla Sharkey.

Onondaga wasn't done there, however, as Annable would score the Lazers' final goal to put Onondaga up 5-0 in the 59th minute after splitting the Corning defense for her third point of the game.

Kiersten Spears earned her first-career win and shutout after making two saves in net.

The Lazers return to the pitch at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday and will play at Tompkins-Cortland Community College in a conference matchup.
