The Onondaga Community College volleyball team went 1-2 on Saturday as the Lazers competed in the Cayuga Community College POD in Auburn.
MATCH ONE: Onondaga 0, Monroe 3 (11-25, 21-25, 11-25)The Lazers fell in straight-sets to nationally-ranked Monroe Community College to open the Cayuga POD on Saturday.
Isabella Winklestine posted a team-high six kills and three aces to go along with five digs while
Melissa Krak notched six digs and one kill.,
Jessica Cost returned to the lineup and tallied 15 assists, two kills and two digs.
MATCH TWO: Onondaga 3, Corning 1 (21-25, 25-11, 25-23, 25-18)Four different Lazers posted double-digit digs with
Sydney Burritt's 18 leading the way.,
Leslie Santos had 10 digs in the win and
Rachel Zoanetti had 11., Krak topped 18 digs while Winklestine nearly had a double-double with 10 kills and nine digs., Cost set the pace for Onondaga's offense with 26 helpers.
MATCH THREE: Onondaga 1, Finger Lakes 3 (25-16, 24-26, 21-25, 24-26)After winning the first set, the Lazers were unable to sustain their momentum despite losing the second and fourth frames by only two points.
Krak had an outstanding match with 14 kills and 23 digs, while Santos posted a career-best 19 digs., Cost produced 29 assists and 13 digs and four aces overall.
Onondaga, now 11-6 on the season, will return to action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday when it travels to face Tompkins-Cortland Community College in MSAC action.
