The nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College women's basketball team fell for the second consecutive day to a Division II team as the No. 8 Lazers came up short against Frederick Community College, 61-51, at the Mustang Winter Tip-Off, hosted by Monroe College in the Bronx.

After holding an eight-point lead at halftime, Onondaga would watch its lead evaporate as the Lazers went nearly nine minutes of play without scoring a point in the second stanza allowing the Cougars (8-6) to claw their way back into the game.

Onondaga had its worst shooting half of the season, converting only 6-of-35 (.171%) shots in the final 20 minutes of play.

Emiko Powell scored a team-high 14 points in the loss while
Kumba Marong added 12 points.Â
Alisia Griffin registered her second triple double in as many days with 10 point and 11 boards.

The Lazers (10-4) will break for the holidays before returning to action at 6 p.m. on January 6 when Onondaga travels to Buffalo to take on Erie Community College.
