The Onondaga Community College men's basketball team suffered a 73-67 setback on Sunday as the Lazers fell to Hudson Valley Community College in a Regional matchup in Troy.
With the loss, Onondaga dips to 3-2 on the season while the Vikings remain unbeaten at 4-0 overall.
Onondaga would fall behind early in the contest and trailed throughout much of the first half before a late rally would tie the contest at 25-25, but the Vikings would bury a shot as the halftime horn sounded to maintain a two-point lead, 27-25, at intermission.
Hudson Valley continued to apply the pressure in the second half and built an 11-point lead, its largest of the contest. The Lazers would respond, however, with an offensive outburst of their own to come to within three points, but the Vikings would regain the momentum at the free throw line, burying their final 12 points from the charity stripe to earn the win.
Lloyd Parkmond led the way for Onondaga with 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting from the field while sophomore
Colyn Hanley and freshman
Kameron DiSanto each scored 10, respectively.Â
Kyle Kline chipped in with nine points and
Zachary Perry added seven.Â
The Lazers will look to return to their winning ways at 7 p.m. on Thursday when they take on Schenectady Community College in Allyn Hall.
