The Onondaga Community College volleyball team picked up two more wins at the Hudson Valley Community College POD on Saturday to move to 17-8 overall., The matches were played in Troy.
MATCH ONE: Onondaga 3, Hudson Valley 0The Lazers marched to a straight-set win over host Hudson Valley to begin the day.
Najah Amica paced the Lazers with 13 kills and four blocks while sophomore setter
Jessica Cost tallied a game-high 26 assists.,
Melissa Krak notched five kills and eight digs and
Leslie Santos collected 12 digs in the win.
MATCH TWO: Onondaga 2, SUNY Adirondack 3After falling in the first to sets by identical scores (25-21), the Lazers would rebound to take the next two frames to set up a deciding fifth set., After exchanging points in the early going, the Timberwolves would begin to pull away en route to the win.
Amica once again led the Lazers with 14 kills., Cost continued to rack up the assists after collecting 33 while also chipping in with 10 digs and two service aces.,
Isabella Winklestine contributed seven kills and
Meaghan O'Toole posted a career-high 15 digs.,
Allison Massara clubbed four kills and had 13 digs in the loss and Santos tallied a team-best 23 digs.
MATCH THREE: Onondaga 3, Columbia-Greene 0The Lazers would rebound from the loss, however with another convincing straight-set win over Columbia-Greene Community College, 25-14, 25-15, 25-6.
Rachel Zoanetti had two kills and four service aces in the win., Cost provided another double-double as the Marcellus native had 15 helpers and a career-best 11 aces., Krak had six kills while Santos and
Abbey Townley each had eight digs, respectively.
The Lazers will return to the mix at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and will host Corning Community College in a pivotal conference and Regional contest at Allyn Hall.
