The Onondaga Community College women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 setback on Saturday as the Lazers fell to nationally-ranked Genesee Community College in Batavia.
With the loss, Onondaga slips to 10-5-1 while the Cougars improve to 10-3 on the season.
Both teams displayed solid defense in the first half as neither was able to break the scoreless tie until the 37th minute when Genesee was able to put one past
Margaret Choroser to take a 1-0 lead.
The Cougars would add to their lead in the 47th minute before tacking on an insurance goal late in the second frame to earn the 3-0 win.
Onondaga had its chances in the second half, but was unable to find the back of the net. The loss marks only the third time this season that Onondaga's high-powered offense was held scoreless.
Choroser takes the loss in net for the Lazers and moves to 8-5-1, despite making 10 saves.Â
