Box Score Batavia, NY - The Onondaga Community College Women's Basketball team (3-0) went on the road for the first time this year and defeated Genesee Community College in impressive fashion 95-51.
Onondaga used a trapping press and unselfish team offense to break open a close game midway through the first half and led 55-28 at halftime. Â The tough defense continued throughout the second half as the Lady Lazers continued to gradually build the lead. Â Onondaga finished with a season high 26 assists and 18 steals. Â
Allie Taylor (Hannibal) and
Jenn Deuel (Whitesboro) lead Onondaga in scoring with 23 and 16 points respectively while
Brittany Anderson (Mynderse Academy) added 11 and Courtney Lewis (Oswego) chipped in with 10.
Lauren Roy (Bishop Ludden) and Anderson led the defense with 5 steals each.
Onondaga plays two games at home in Allyn Hall - at 3pm on Saturday against Adirondack CC and at 12 noon Sunday against Hudson Valley CC.
