DJ Eckert was a standout lacrosse player locally in Syracuse. After graduating, DJ attended SUNY Plattsburgh to play lacrosse. Eckert transferred to OCC where he got an Associate’s Degree in Exercise Science. Upon graduation from OCC, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and was member of the lacrosse team at SUNY Brockport, playing goalie for the Golden Eagles. While at Brockport, Eckert was an All-Academic SUNYAC student-athlete. 

Eckert started coaching at the youth level, with a lacrosse program in Brockport, NY. Upon returning to Syracuse, Eckert was hired at Westhill High School to help coach within multiple levels of their boy’s lacrosse program. Eckert was a lacrosse coach at Westhill for the past four seasons. 

Eckert currently resides in Syracuse, NY and is a Physical Education Teacher at an elementary school in the city.
