Bob Piraino

Bob Piraino was named the head baseball coach at Onondaga Community College in July 2018.
 
Before joining the OCC program, Piraino worked for four years as a volunteer assistant baseball coach at Le Moyne College, a Division II program, primarily working with the outfielders as well as assisting in recruiting.
 
Piraino has over 30 years of coaching experience at the high school level as well. A Syracuse native, Piraino was a co-founder of Syracuse’s Reviving Baseball in the Inner City (RBI) Program in 2006.
 
In addition to coaching, Piraino is a career educator who is devoted to helping students succeed. He taught middle school and high school social studies with the Syracuse City School District for 30 years before retiring in 2014.
 
In retirement, Piraino worked part-time at The Institute of Technology at Syracuse Central (ITC) coordinating the Smart Scholar Early College High School Program with ITC seniors attending OCC classes for college credit.
 
Piraino graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Political Science from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs (1982). He also earned his Masters of Science degree in Secondary Social Studies Education at SU (1984).
