Bel Air, MD - Onondaga Men's Lacrosse, as the No. 3 seed, traveled to the No. 1 Harford Owls on Saturday afternoon. The Lazers took the win over the Owls for the first time since 2022.
The Lazers never trailed from the jump with the first goal put on by
Davin Bomberry (Six Nations, ON / The Hill Academy). Matt Davis (West Monroe, NY / Paul V. Moore HS) and
Trysen Sunday (Akwasasne, NY / Massena HS / The Hill Academy) netted a goal each to follow, up 3-2 over the Owls at the end of the 1st quarter.
The Lazers pulled ahead by goals in the start of the 2nd off Bomberry's second and a man up goal from
Trace Hill (Tonowanda Seneca Nation, NY / Akron HS). Harford responded with two goals to cut the deficit before
Dominick Terrazzano (Billerica, NY / Billerica HS) tallied his first of the day. After Harford netted their fifth, the Lazers put up a pair to end the half from Sunday and
Tehokwirathe Barreiro (Akwasasne, NY / Salmon River HS).
Sunday tallied his third goal of the day on a man up opportunity to go up 9-5 on the Owls with 12:32 to go in the 3rd quarter. Harford put up three straight cutting Onondaga's lead to just 10-9. Bomberry extended the lead to 11-9 to end the 3rd quarter.
Bomberry tallied another to start the 4th and pull ahead 12-9. The Owls stayed within reach with two straight goals before Sunday capped off his 4-goal performance making it 13-11.
Chrishawn Hunter (Rochester, NY / Westtown School) put in back-to-back goals sparking the streak for Onondaga, scoring 4 straight and sealing the deal before Harford put in one final goal making it a 17-12 victory for OCC.
Peter Resnick (Latham, NY / Shaker HS) had 13 wins in the circle for OCC.
Keller O'Hern (Syracuse, NY / Westhill HS) recorded 20 saves in goal.
The Lazers will host Genesee Community College this Wednesday, April 1st at 4pm.
