Syracuse, NY - Onondaga Softball hosted Monroe Community College in their home opener. Onondaga split the series moving to 4-5.

Sophia Colgan (Johnson City, NY / Johnson City HS) tallied an RBI double in the bottom of the 1st to score
Ava Falvo (Liverpool, NY / Liverpool HS), putting up the first run for OCC. A drawn walk by
Lily Hotaling (Cicero, NY / Cicero North Syracuse HS) with bases loaded forced in a run followed by a wild pitch scored two more for OCC to lead 3-0.
Puttkamer knocked in the Lazers' 4th run off an RBI double to knock in
Jenna Martin (Baldwinsville, NY / Baker HS) after a base hit in the bottom of the 4th followed by an RBI from
Ryan Holland (Cato, NY / Cato Meridian HS) to score Puttkamer. Another Lazer run came off a wild pitch to score Holland, followed by a 2-RBI double from
Mya HuntingtonÂ
(Baldwinsville, NY / Baker HS), bringing in a new pitcher for the Tribunes.
The Tribunes knocked in their first runs in the top of the 4th off an RBI double, ending Puttkamer's day and bringing Hotaling to the mound to end the inning. Monroe tallied another in the top of the 5th after OCC went scoreless in the bottom of the 4th. An OCC error allowed an in the park homer to knock in 2 more runs for Monroe to trail just 8-6.

Avalon Millard (Vista, CA / Rancho Buena Vista HS) to put one on for OCC in the bottom of the 6th. A wild pitch with bases loaded allowed Hotaling to reach home for another.
The OCC defense allowed 4Â runs in the top of the 7th to tie it all up 10-10 and force extra innings.
Jenna Martin knocked a stand up double with one out in the bottom of the 7th before advancing to third off a single from Puttkamer. A wild pitch allowed Martin to come home and win game 1, 11-10.
A stand up triple from Colgan knocked in a quick run to start game 2 and take an early lead.
Isabella Peters knocked in a run for the Lazers in the top of the 2nd. Huntington tacked on an RBI also to lead 3-0. Monroe strung together 3 runs in the bottom of the inning to tie it up 3-3.
The Lazers laid on hits off of the Monroe pitcher manufacturing 3 runs to take back the lead before Monroe tacked on one in the bottom of the inning to head to the 4th with the Lazers leading 6-4.
Monroe scored off a throwing error to second base to start the bottom of the 4th sparking a 12-run inning to lead 16-6. Onondaga responded with 4 runs in the top of the 5th.
Monroe tacked on 4 in the bottom of the 5th to win via mercy rule in game 2.
The Lazers will host Finger Lakes Community College this weekend on their home turf.
