Syracuse, NY - Women's Soccer hosted the formerly 5-0 Jefferson Cannoneers on Wilbur Field for a 4pm kickoff. The Lazers advanced to 6-0 after a 3-0 victory after the 90 minutes of play.
The Lazers first goal of the contest came in the 15th minute on a deep shot from
Juliana Elberson, who now leads the Lazers in goals scored, on an assist from
Brooke Widrick. The 1-0 lead remained entering the half. The second half was scoreless until 11:27 when Widrick put one in the net for some insurance. Capping it off with just 2:55 remaining was
Jasmine Martin grabbing the rebound from Widrick off the post. Goalkeeper
Geona Wood grabbed 4 saves and recorded her 4th season shutout.
The win over the Cannoneers puts Onondaga in the No. 1 spot in Region 3 rankings. The women return to Wilbur Field this Sunday, September 28th for an MSAC matchup with Genesee Community College at 1pm.
