Utica, NY - Women's Soccer traveled to Proctor High School to take on the No. 5 Mohawk Valley Hawks.
The two teams previously met in the National Quarterfinal in 2024 at Genesee Community College where Onondaga suffered a devastating loss due to penalty kicks after a tie in regulation. The Lazers hit the field hungry for redemption over the Hawks.
The two went toe to toe in the first half until the 28th minute where the Lazers went up on the board on a deep shot from
Juliana Elberson, out of reach for the Hawks goalkeeper, on the throw in from
Isabel Fontaine. A solid Lazer defense held the Hawks scoreless, securing the 1-0 victory.
Geona Wood had 6 saves in the 90-minute shutout.
Moving to 3-0 the women will host their first game of the season in the Queen of the Hill Cup on Wilbur Field this Thursday, September 18th at 5pm against SUNY ESF.
