Watertown, NY - Onondaga Volleyball took a thrilling win over the strong Jefferson Cannoneers program Tuesday night on the road. The Lazers won the match 3-2 with the 16-14 victory secured in the 5th set.
Onondaga took set 1, 25-23 to start the match. Jefferson had the response in the 2nd with a 25-19 victory, proving to be a tight match.With the Lazers taking the 3rd, 25-22, and the Cannoneers taking a 25-18 win in the 4th, the match was sent to a 5th set. The Lazers trailed by as much as 7-2, scraping their way back to win by two on a kill from
Aubrie Jones followed by a tipped ball out of bounds by the Cannoneers to end the match, 16-14. The Lazers tight defense was led by Sarah Sovocool and
Izabella Burton each with 16 digs.
Grace Plewak had 10 kills with the setups from
Chylure Bucktooth with 18 assists.
The Lazers look to continue their streak at Mohawk Valley on Thursday, September 11th at 6pm.
