The Lazers faced the No. 2 seeded Hostos on Friday afternoon in the first round of the consolation bracket. Onondaga traveled to the Bronx to see the Region 15 opponent earlier this season taking a 74-60 loss to the Caimans. This time around, the Lazers defense held the Caimans to shooting just 25.3% from the field versus 40.0% in their prior meeting. Onondaga had a big 2nd quarter outscoring Hostos 20-8 thanks to outside shooting, and leading 33-20 at halftime. The end of regulation resulted in a 60-60 score, forcing an overtime, where the Lazers would come out on top, 71-67.
Sarah Hirschler had a big OT with 6 points and 23 overall.

The win over Hostos sent Onondaga into the 5th place finish game against the Northland Pioneers out of Deluth, MN. The Pioneers put up 44 points in the paint versus Onondaga's 20. Trailing by 13 at the half, the Lazers had to dig deep after fatigue from three straight days of games. A hot 3rd quarter for
Amiya Johnson with two threes kept the Pioneers within reach. Johnson added two more from the outside in the 4th quarter, but the first half deficit didn't allow the Lazers to come out on top, resulting in an 80-59 final score and a 6th place finish for Onondaga Women's Basketball. Johnson went 4-8 from three with 14 points alongsideÂ
Kathryn Grainger with 14 of her own.
Grainger was named to the All-Tournament team.
Onondaga finishes with an overall record of 26-8 and a 13-1 record in MSAC play and 19-1 in Region 3 play. They finish 6th in NJCAA in the points scored category, averaging 76.7 points per game.
