Syracuse, NY - Onondaga Women's Basketball hosted No. 10 Fulton-Montgomery Community College in Allyn Hall in their first game since November 19th. The Lazers moved to 6-1 with a 79-59 victory over the Raiders.
Sophomore Guard
Amiya Johnson (
Fairport, NY / Fairport HS) led the way with 21 points for the Lazers, 3-3 from the arc and a total 11 in the first quarter, clinching a 23-11 after the 1st. The Lazers defensive performance held the Raiders to just 11 in the 2nd, entering the half up 45-22.
Johnson stayed hot in the second half dropping a pair of threes in the 3rd quarter, extending the Lazers' lead. Freshman
Aunnie Stier (
Miami, FL / John A. Ferguson Senior HS) put up 9 in the 3rd with a pair of threes. Sophomore Forward
Mary Hamer (
Belfast, NY / Belfast HS) recorded her second season double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Guard
Lundyn McCutchen (
Spencerport, NY / Spencerport HS) dropped 12 with 7 rebounds. OCC shot a collective 34.6% from three in the 79-59 victory.
The women will travel to Watertown, NY to take on the No. 5 Jefferson Cannoneers this Wednesday, December 10th at 5pm.
