Binghamton, NY - Volleyball claimed their first win of the season last night over the SUNY Broome Hornets in a 5 set match. The Lazers were victorious in the 5th set taking a 15-9 win.
The Lazers dropped set one by the skin of their teeth falling 25-23. They responded with a 25-19 win in the second. The Hornets took set 3 with a 25-16 final and forcing the Lazers to regain their momentum taking set 4 and forcing a 5th. Sophomore
Kara Stephens had a strong day with 11 kills alongside
Addison Kelly with 10. Setter
Alexsis Knox finished the day with 29 assists. The Lazer defense was strong and led by
Nevaeh Baker with 21 digs.
The Lazers hope to carry the win into the weekend where they will host their first tri-match with Genesee and Jamestown Community College in the Allyn Hall Gymnasium. The first match will begin at 11am where the Lazers will take on the 1-4 Genesee Cougars.
