Syracuse, NY - Onondaga hosted the NJCAA Quarterfinal game vs the No. 5 Genesee Cougars on Saturday to advance to the Final Four in Bel Air, MD at Harford Community College. No. 4 Onondaga took a 13-10 victory after a cutthroat 60 minutes of play.
The Lazers trailed 4-1 to the Cougars in the 1st quarter. With a hard fought second quarter and several penalties, the Lazers scraped back trailing just one goal at the half.
Onondaga took their first lead with 6:40 remaining in the 3rd quarter on a goal from
Cy Deer. Tied at 9 until two minutes into the 4th quarter, Region 3 Player of the Year, Tehokwirathe Barriero put the Lazers head 10-9 giving them a lead that they would not relinquish. A few insurance goals would secure them the 13-10 win over the Cougars.

Cy Deer led the Lazers to victory each with 3 goals and 1 assist. Freshman goalkeeperÂ
Jacob Fifield had a historic performance with 22 saves for the Lazers.
The Lazers will face the No. 1 CCBC - Essex Knights in the semifinal round of the tournament on Saturday, May 11th at 3:30PM. The Knights are currently 10-3.
