Syracuse, NY - The No. 4 Lazers hosted the No. 5 Jefferson Cannoneers this weekend in the first round of the Regional Tournament in a best of 3 game series. The Lazers fell in the first two games ending the series and their season.
The Lazers were led in game 1 by
Bianca DeSellems who went 2-3 from the plate. With a 3-run 1st inning for the Cannoneers and 2 insurance runs in the 7th, Onondaga would be unable to take a lead regardless of 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th bringing it to 6-4. The 6-4 final put Onondaga in a position with their season on the line.
DeSellems started game 2 on the mound relived by Broadwell in the 4th who finished with 7 strikeouts on the day. A 4-run 2nd inning for the Cannoneers cut the Lazers lead short. Unable to string together timely hits, the Lazers fell in game 2 with a 5-2 final score. Fraher had 2 RBIs in game 2.
