Syracuse, NY - Onondaga has hosted their first seven games of the season winning the last 6 with a 6-1 record to start the year before their first road trip. The Lazers hosted Mohawk Valley on Friday for a single 9-inning game and a doubleheader on Saturday against Kingsborough Community College out of Brooklyn, NY.
The Lazers took the field on Friday at 2pm taking a quick lead over the Hawks scoring in the 1st inning. The lead continued as OCC manufactured runs in the 4th and 5th inning and 6 in the 8th to secure the 10-1 win over the Hawks.
Colin White,
Brendan Mair, and
Jonathan Gonzalez-Perez led with 3 hits each. Gonzalez-Perez had 3 RBIs.
Wyatt Braun was credited with Friday's win pitching 6 innings and allowing no runs for the Hawks.
The Lazers had a quick turnaround returning to the complex Saturday morning for a 12pm start for the Kingsborough doubleheader.
Matt Carner took the win on the mound in 6 innings run ruling the Wave in game one 13-3.
Jake Khouri and Gonzalez-Perez had 3 RBIs each. The Lazer offense continued in game two with a 13-1 win in 5 innings.
Brendan Mair and
Carter King had 3 RBIs each.
Dylan Swartwood took the win in game two on the mound with 5 strikeouts. Onondaga recorded 23 hits on the day.
The Lazers will look to travel to Tompkins-Cortland Community College this Saturday, March 23rd for a 12pm doubleheader if weather allows.
