Syracuse, NY - Women's soccer hosted SUNY ESF last night on Wilbur Field for the annual Queen of the Hill Cup. The Lazers took back the trophy taking the win 1-0.
The Mighty Oaks and the Lazers had a long drawn out battle remaining 0-0 until the 53rd minute of the game where Freshman,
Grace O'Gorman was awarded a penalty kick after an ESF foul. O'Gorman found the back of the net giving the Lazers the 1-0 lead over the Mighty Oaks. The Lazer defense held strong keeping their lead and taking back the title since their last win over ESF in 2012.
The women move to a 2-0 record and will look to keep it going on Wilbur Field in their next contest against the Jamestown Community College Jayhawks this Saturday, September 2nd at 1pm.
