Syracuse, NY- The Lazers were back in action for the first time in 2023 with a back-to-back this past weekend. The Lazers defeated North Country on Saturday and fell to Union County on Sunday. 

In the first game of the weekend they hosted the #5 Saints of North Country Community College. The Lazers came out strong defensively, holding the Saints to only 3 points in the first quarter and ultimately took a 32-21 lead into the half. The Lazers came out the half and scored 24 points in the third quarter to further the lead. In the end the Lazers cruised to a 76-47 victory. Hannah Durand led the Lazers with 29 points while shooting 60% from three. Zhane Holmes and Macey DeOrdio both had double-doubles on the day. 

On Sunday, women's basketball hosted DII Union County College. In an exciting first quarter the Lazers jumped out to a 25-20 lead, but the Owls went on a run in the second quarter and outscored the Lazers 26-9. The Owls furthered their lead in the second half securing the 96-66 victory. The Lazers were once again led by Hannah Durand, who had 26 points and shooting 45% from three. 

The Lazers will be back in action as they travel to play SUNY Sullivan on Tuesday, January 17th
