Syracuse, NY- The Lazers dropped their first two contests of 2023 this weekend. On Saturday, North Country defeated the Lazers 112-97 and on Sunday, The Lazers dropped a close one to Clinton 109-112.
Against North Country, the Lazers fell behind early in the first half beginning the game down 18-3. The Saints took this advantage into the half with a 60-43 lead. The Lazers made runs in the second half, but could not cut into the lead enough.
Isaiah Warmack led the Lazers with 27 points and
Aiden Retzos scored 22 points in his first action of the season.
In a more close contest, the Lazers battled with the Cougars on Sunday. After making a run toward the end of the second half, the Lazers came up short in the end. Jaylen and
Isaiah Warmack led the Lazers in scoring with 26 and 25 points respectively.
Seth Myles had a double-double with a 20 point, 12 rebound performance.
The Lazers will be back in action when they host Finger Lakes Community College on Wednesday, January 18th with a 7:00pm tipoff.
