The Lazers finished up their regular season this week moving to 23-16 overall and have maintained a dominant performance in their last 6 games, all on the road, sweeping Tompkins Cortland, Broome, and Jamestown Community College.
Binghamton, NY - The Lazers took care of business quickly defeating Broome 16-3 in 5 innings. Jack Scanlon and
Kolby Gidcumb contributed 3 RBI's each. The Hornets held on longer in game 2 until the Lazers pounded on 7 runs in the 5th inning and 4 in the 7th with a final score of 15-14.
Nick Haviland shutout the Hornets in the 5th and 6th inning on the mound and took the win.
Jamestown, NY - Game 1 was scoreless until the 5th inning when the Lazers found their groove.
Mike Benedetto went 3 for 4 at the plate and
Jake Humes recorded 3 RBI's with a final score of 11-6. Benedetto and Humes stayed hot in game 2 with Benedetto finishing 4 for 4 at the plate with 4 RBI's and Humes 3 for 5 with 3 more RBI's on the day. The teams were tied 8-8 in the top of the 7th and the Lazers scored 5 runs and held the Jayhawks scoreless to end with a 13-8 win.
To top off the week, the Mid-State Athletic Conference has named
Garrett Stuckey and
Devin Rooney members of the 2022 Baseball All-Conference Team.
Onondaga has secured the #4 seed in the Western Region of Region III. They will travel to Little Falls, NY this Saturday, May 10th to play a 3-game series against the Eastern #1 seeded Herkimer Generals.
