Buffalo, NY - The Lazers softball team traveled to Buffalo this weekend for two double headers against the Thunderwolves of Niagara Community College and the Erie Community College Kats. After hard fought games, the Lazers finished the weekend 0-4.
Game 1 on Saturday was a battle going into extra innings with a final score of 6-5 after the 8th inning. The Lazers came out hard scoring 2 runs in the 1st, 1 in the 2nd, and holding the Thunderwolves to no runs in the first three innings. In the top of the 7th, the Lazers trailed 5-3.Â
Jenna Mills put up a 2-run homerun to tie the game, going into the 8th with a score of 5-5. Niagara had a walk-off walk to score a run with a final score of 6-5. In game two,
Madison Henry put up three base hits and
Alexa Sicina contributed two RBI's for the 2 runs scored by the Lazers with a final score of 8-2.Â
Game 1 on Sunday was another hard fought battle finishing in 9 innings.
Gabby Magie had four hits and three RBI's with a 2-run homerun in the top of the 8th to put the Lazers up 8-5. The Lazers couldn't hold on to the lead giving up 4 runs in the bottom of the 8th with a final score of 9-8.
Madison Henry led the Lazers in game 2 with 2 base hits and 2 RBI's for the 2 runs scored by the Lazers with a final score of 4-2.
The Lazers will host Monroe Community College in their next double header on Tuesday, April 26th at 3pm and 5:30pm at the OCC Softball Complex.
