Syracuse, NY - The Lazers celebrated sophomore day Saturday before tip off, honoring
Jakhi Lucas and
Latyce Faison for all of their accomplishments here at Onondaga Community College. Faison is averaging 25 points, 2.8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2.6 steals a game in his two years. He is also a member of the 1,000 point club. Lucas is averaging 16.4 points, 5.6 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.1 steals a game in his two years. He is also the all-time leader in steals at Onondaga.
Saturday, the Lazers battled it out against Jefferson Community College Cannoneers at Allyn Hall Gymnasium in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup. The first half was a back and forth battle with the Cannoneers scoring a half court buzzer beater to bring the score to within one to end the half. The Lazers were able to hold off the Cannoneers in the second half to secure the win 74-71.
The Lazers were lead by Faison, Lucas, and
Isaiah Warmack. Faison had 33 points and 6 steals. Warmack scored 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Lucas also added 15 points and 7 steals, assists, and boards.
The Lazers look to extend their 4-game win streak tonight as they travel to Auburn to face off against Cayuga Community College in a Mid-State Athletic Conference matchup at 6:00 p.m.
