Syracuse, NY- The Lazers hosted the Women's Basketball Region III Final Four this weekend. In the Semi-Finals the Lazers face off against Herkimer, and in a close game throughout the Lazers pulled away in the 4th quarter and won 69-61. In the Championship game they used a strong defensive first half push past the Saints of North Country. The Lazers held the Saints to under 10 points in three of the four quarters on their way to the Championship.
After the win
Macey DeOrdio was named Region III Player of the Year and
Coach Grinnell-Seibt was named Region III Coach of the Year. In her first year at the helm, she has led the Lazers to a 23-2 record, an MSAC Championship, a Region III Championship, and will look to add a National Championship in the next couple of weeks.
Hannah Durand was named the Region III Tournament MVP as she put on a show leading the Lazers with 19 points and 4 steals in the Championship Game.
Avianna Baker was named to the All-Tournament team for her performance over the weekend.
The Lazers will now travel to Minnesota for the NJCAA Championship Tournament beginning March 9th.
