The Onondaga Lazers Softball team had a strong showing the the NJCAA National Tournament finishing fourth in the country.
Day 1
The Lazers started the tournament off by upsetting fourth seeded Lehigh Carbon, 7-4. With the win, Onondaga moved on to the winners bracket to take on top ranked Rock Valley, losing 8-0.
Day 2
The Lazers started off day two needing a win to keep their National Championship hopes alive. Onondaga got off to a hot start as the took on sixth ranked Dakota College. Up 7-1 after five innings of play the Lazers gave up seven runs in the top of the sixth and four runs in the top of the seventh. Trailing 12-7 in the bottom of the seventh Onondaga battled back to score six runs in the bottom of the seventh and securing the win, 13-12.
In the second game of the day, Onondaga took on third seeded Brookdale. After a hard fought game the Lazers fell to Brookdale, 9-4.
