Onondaga Volleyball Wins Two Out Of Three Matches Over The Weekend

Match 1 vs Monroe:
Onondaga came out strong in there open match taking down the Monroe Tribunes three sets to none. The Lazers took the first set in dominate fashion, 25-10. The Lazers showed no signs of slowing down in sets two and three. Onondaga took the next to sets, 25-21 and 25-15.

Lexi McLaggan - 11 Kills and 10 gigs
Maggie Prusinowski - 11 kills and 8 digs
Maleigha Ellithorpe – 26 assists
Lauren Burbridge - 18 digs


Match 2 vs Finger Lakes:
 
After a sweep over Monroe Onondaga, found themselves in a hard fought battle with Finger Lakes in which they were defeated in three straights sets. Onondaga dropped the first set 23-25. The Lazers seemed to lose a bit of their energy in sets two and three as the Lakers completed the sweep, 16-25 and 15-25.

Match 3 vs Genesee:

Coming off their first loss of the day, the Lazers entered another hard fought match against Genesee. Exchanging sets throughout the match, the lazers were able to prevail in five sets. The Lazers won the first set 25-21, with the second going to the Cougars 25-27. The third and fourth sets followed the same trend as the first two. Onondaga took set three, 25-23 while the Cougars took set four 25-20. Set five displayed more of the same competitive play from both teams. Onondaga was able to hold on and defeat Genesee 15-13.

Onondaga returns to the court on Wednesday, September 19 as they travel Tompkins Cortland Community College. The match scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
