Paced by the inside play of Sydni Eure (East Syracuse – Minoa) and Samantha Britton (Kenmore West – Buffalo), the Onondaga Community College women's basketball team defeated visiting Jefferson Community College 70-49 Saturday afternoon at Allyn Hall.

Both Eure and Britton had double doubles for the Lazers with Eure leading Onondaga in the scoring column with 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds while Britton led the team with 13 rebounds as well as scoring 15 points.  Shannon Foehl (Skaneateles) tied Eure for team honors in assists with 5, and Jayda Humphrey (Rome Free Academy) knocked down 3 shots from long range while tallying 9 points.

After a tightly played first quarter, the Lazers used multiple defenses to hold Jefferson to 11 points in the second period on their way to 35-20 halftime lead that was extended to as many as 29 points in the second  half.

With the win Onondaga improves to 20-5 (8-1 in conference) while Jefferson falls to 10-10 (4-6).  The Lazers are now tied for first place in the MidState Athletic Conference with Finger Lakes Community College who lost on the road to Corning CC earlier in the day.

Onondaga's next game will be at home against Tompkins Cortland Community College at 6pm on Wednesday, February 14.
