Box Score #4 Onondaga Women's Basketball defeated Jefferson Community College, 86-63, on Thursday evening in Allyn Hall.
Freshman forward,
Sam Britton (12 rebounds) took charge of the boards early in the game, dropping 10 of her team-high 21 points in the first five minutes. OCC captured the narrow, 18-13, heading into the second quarter when the Lazers sharp-shooters ignited for 32 points to go into the locker room with a 50-24 edge.
The Lazers solidified their control at the start of the third quarter when they scored 10 unanswered to capture their largest lead of the game (60-26). Onondaga sealed the victory in the final quarter at the hands of
Michaela Whiteman matching her own season-high with 9 points.
Morgan Deland had 16 points, and captains
Jordan Vaught (7 assists) and
Hope DeFazio each tallied 11 points each.
#4 Onondaga will be home again this Saturday for
Youth Basketball Day verses Tompkins Cortland Community College. Tip-off is 1:00pm.
