Lazers Down SUNY Broome to Remain Undefeated In Conference

Box Score Two days after defeating Mohawk Valley Community College in a showdown of national top 5 ranked teams, the Onondaga Community College women's basketball team traveled to Binghamton and downed SUNY Broome 95-53. With the win Onondaga improved to 8-0 in the Mid State Athletic Conference and 21-3 overall.

For the second straight game the Lazers fell behind early in the first quarter (17-9) only to respond with a late surge to take a 21-20 lead. A second quarter scoring spree led to a 49-30 halftime lead that the team built on gradually in the second half.

The Lazers were led in scoring by Jordan Vaught (Bishop Grimes) with 16 points that included 3 baskets from beyond the arc. Melissa Bakowski (West Genesee) chipped in with 14 points while Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) had 12 points and 10 assists. Jill Wager (West Genesee) came off the bench for 11 points. Onondaga had a season high 30 assists in the victory.

Onondaga returns home to Allyn Gym on Saturday, February 6 for a 1pm game against Jefferson Community College.
