Onondaga Community College women's basketball team co-captains Melissa Bakowski (West Genesee) and Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) led the Lazers to an 88-59 victory over visiting Herkimer Community College in first round of the NJCAA regional tournament on Tuesday at Allyn Hall of the Onondaga campus.

Bakowski continued her fine play with a team high 22 points and 8 rebounds while Roberts rewarded teammates with 11 assists while scoring 10 points.  Cassidy Rattray (Seneca Falls) (15), Morgan Deland (Marcellus) (12), and Hope DeFazio (Baldwinsville) (10) all contributed on the offensive end as the team scored exactly 88 points for the ninth time this season.

With the win, the #1-seeded Lazers improve to 28-3 on the season and advance to regional semifinal on Saturday against #4-seeded Jefferson Community College.  The game will take place at noon at Allyn Hall.
