Box Score The Onondaga Community College women's basketball team survived a cold start for a 82-65 win on the road Saturday against Finger Lakes Community College.
After taking a 40-32 lead into halftime, Onondaga created some separation by extending the lead to 62-45 at the end of the third quarter – a lead which proved to be the final margin of victory.
The visiting Lazers were once again paced in scoring by Melissa Bakowski(West Genesee) with 20 points. Morgan Deland (Marcellus) scored 14 points, and Kumba Marong (Bronx Leadership Academy) had her seventh double double on the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) also scored in double figures (10) while tying Jordan Vaught (Bishop Grimes) for team honors in assists with five.
With the win, the Lazers remained undefeated in conference play (11-0) while improving its season record to 24-3. The women's team will finish the regular season with the 5pm home game (Sophomore Night) at SRC Arena on Tuesday versus Cayuga Community College before hosting the Mid State Athletic Conference tournament beginning on Friday.
