Box Score Onondaga defeated Mohawk Valley in a shootout at David W. Murphy field on Wednesday evening.
 
As a result of Natalie O'Brien being tripped inside the penalty box, Natalie Sweeny took advantage of an early penalty kick to put the Lazers on the scoreboard. Mohawk Valley defender Alexandra Stant responded with a goal from thirty yards out to tie the game 1-1.
 
The Hawks scored the go ahead goal when Emilie Lewandrowski tapped in a rebound at the 33:04 mark of the second half. Natalie Sweeny evened the score with her second penalty kick goal of the game after a hand ball by Mohawk Valley with fifteen minutes remaining in regulation.
 
After twenty minutes of overtime, the teams remained even sending the match into penalty kicks. Valerie Spencer tallied two great saves in the second and third rounds with four of five Lazers (Natalie O'Brien, Cassidy Rattray, Natalie Sweeny, and Miranda Ponto) finding the back of the net for the victory.
 
Onondaga travels to Hudson Valley Community College on Saturday afternoon for a 1pm kickoff.
