On a night when
Samantha Roberts (Cicero-North Syracuse) became the all-time assists leader in Onondaga Community College women's basketball history, the Lazers improved their Mid State Athletic Conference record to 5-0 (17-3 overall) with a resounding 110-42 victory over visiting Finger Lakes Community College. Roberts not only established the assist record on a night that saw Onondaga place 13 players in the scoring column but also knocked down five 3-pointers.
Melissa Bakowski (West Genesee) led the Lazers in scoring with 17 while Roberts and
Kumba Marong (Bronx Leadership Academy) chipped in with 15 points each.
Morgan Deland (Marcellus) and
Imperio Cesar(New Explorers – Queens) had 14 and 12 points respectively. Marong upped her consecutive double-double streak to 3 games as she led the team with a game high 14 rebounds. Onondaga continued to share the ball as was witnessed by a season high 29 assists.
Onondaga travels to Auburn on Saturday for a 1pm game against Cayuga Community College.
