Box Score The Onondaga men's soccer team battled back from a 2-goal deficit to take SUNY Adirondack into overtime, but the visiting Timberwolves netted the game winner 3:30 into the first extra session to come away with a 3-2 win in the season opener for both teams.
The guests tallied once in the first half, then extended their advantage to 2-0 with 26:36 remaining. Â The Lazers battled back, however, and
Gerardo Ramirez got Onondaga on the board when he finished a great cross from
Mark Mrowinski with 16:29 remaining. Â Ramirez then tallied the equalizer less than three minutes later, heading home the rebound of a Mrowinski shot that hit the post. Â The Lazers were then unable to capitalize on a couple of good scoring chances late in regulation and early in overtime, before the Timberwolves knocked in the game winner.
The Lazers return to action on Monday evening at 6:00 pm, when they host cross town rival SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in the annual battle for the King of the Hill Cup.
