Syracuse, NY - Onondaga Men's Soccer, as the No. 8 seed, hosted the No. 9 Hudson Valley Community College in the subregional round of the region 3 tournament on Wilbur Field. The Lazers advance after a 5-2 victory over the Vikings.

The Lazers came out hot for the 1pm kickoff, scoring on the Vikings in the first 2 minutes of the match on a straightaway goal from London, England Freshman, Archie Burnett. The Lazers held Hudson Valley to just one shot on goal until extending their 1-0 lead to 2-0 at 10:14 where leading scorer Andrew Eccles struck net on a pass from Gregory Ramin. Ramin capped off the 3-0 lead at half off a corner kick taken by Matthew Honeyman.

The Lazers maintained the 3-0 lead until just over twelve minutes remained in the match where the Vikings found net making the score 3-1. Honeyman had a response 4 minutes later off a rebound, recording his first goal of the day. A Vikings goal with 3:19 remaining would be their last scored of the season. Frustration setting in led to a series of three ejections issued in the final 45 seconds of the match, two to Hudson Valley and one to Onondaga's Owen Daly. But not before Sophomore Defender Ethan Sanderson headed one in off an assist from Daly, capping off the 5-2 final score.

The victory advances Onondaga to take on the No. 1 seeded Finger Lakes Community College on the road this Wednesday, October 29th at 7pm.
