Box Score 3 The Lazer women's volleyball team opened the 2015-2016 year at the Nassau Community College Invitational Tournament in Garden City today. The season opening event features five top programs from around the Northeast.
Onondaga opened the day by dropping a 25-17, 25-10 to tournament host Nassau. The Lazers then faced NJCAA Division I Monroe College, faling 25-6, 25-7. Following a scrimmage against NCAA Division II Molloy College, the Lazers wrapped up the day with their strongest showing, going down in a 3-set heartbreaker, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13, to Community College of Rhode Island.
The Lazers return to action on Thursday evening with a 6:00 pm non-conference match at Davis College in Johnson City. The home opener will be on Wednesday, September 2nd, when Mid-State Athletic Conference rival Finger Lakes Community College travels to Allyn Hall for a 6 pm start.
