Makenzie Annable matched a career-high with 10 points as the nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College women's lacrosse team handed nationally-ranked Jefferson Community College its second loss of the season after holding on for a 19-15 win on Wednesday night in Watertown.

With the win, No. 2 Onondaga moves to 10-1 while the No. 4 Cannoneers fall to 9-2 as a result.

Annable scored a game-high seven goals in the win to go along with three assists. It was the second time this season that the sophomore attack has scored 10 points in a single game.Â
Cheyenne Burnam added four points on one goal and one assist while
Nicole DeVona and
Jordan Osborne, the reigning NJCAA Region III Athlete of the week, each finished with four goals.Â
Alisia Griffin scored twice and
Jenn Deuel added one goal.
Sophia Wojnovich earned the win in net for the Lazers and is now 9-1 overall on the season after turning away 11 shots.
The contest was neck-and-neck from the beginning with Onondaga clinging to a three-goal lead, 7-4, midway through the first half.

Both teams would continue to exchange tallies for the remainder of the opening stanza before Onondaga was able to extend its advantage to four goals at the break, 11-7.

As the second half wore on, Onondaga and Jefferson would match goal for goal, but the Cannoneers were never able to chip away as Onondaga kept its lead through the final whistle.

The Lazers will return to play at 1 p.m. on Saturday when they face the Genesee Community College Cougars in Batavia.
