The Onondaga Community College men's tennis team defeated SUNY Broome, 7-2, on Tuesday as the Lazers hosted their first match of the season at Anthony Santaro Park.
 
With the win, Onondaga improves to 3-8 overall while SUNY Broome dips to 1-4.
 
Matthew McCall picked up a three-set win at No. 1 singles while Jon VanKouwenberg, Darren Pikul and Vincent Hopkins followed suit winning at second, third and fourth singles, respectively.
 
Onondaga swept all three points in doubles play beginning with McCall and VanKouwenberg nailing down an 8-4 win at first doubles.
 
Carlos Pena-Alicea teamed with Marc Rich for an 8-1 victory at second doubles and Pikul played alongside Jeffrey Stone for an 8-3 triumph at third doubles.
 
Onondaga will return to play at 4 p.m. on Thursday when it hosts Mohawk Valley Community College at Santaro Park.
