Brittany Anderson knocked down five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 25 points as the nationally-ranked Onondaga Community College women's basketball overwhelmed the eighth-seeded Schenectady County Community College Royals from the get-go in the quarterfinal round of the 2015 NJCAA Region III Championship. The No. 3 Lazers built a 37 point lead at the half and never looked back, earning a 96-48 win in the SRC Arena and Events Center.
With the win, Onondaga has now posted a W in 17 consecutive games and moves to 27-4 overall while the Royals' season comes to an aned at 5-20.
Schenectady would hold its only lead of the game, 3-2, before the Lazers took over, using a 14-0 run to take a 16-3 lead with 14:59 showing on the clock.
After exchanging baskets, the top-seeded Lazers would put the game out of reach after a 24-0 run highlighted by eight points from Anderson would stake the home team to a 40-point advantage, 47-7.
Coming out of the halftime break, Anderson caught fire, burying three triples on three consecutive possessions to give the Lazers a commanding 58-15 advantage.
The Lazers would continue to pour it on as the final frame wore on eventually building a 56-point lead before the Royals would find a late grove, outscoring the home team 25-17 over the final 12 minutes of play, but the damage was done as Onondaga cruised to the 96-48 win.

Kumba Marong posted her 13
th double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Marong was efficient from the field as well, shooting 7-of-9 overall (.778).Â
Alisia Griffin finished with 14 points and four boards.Â
Samantha Roberts pushed the pace all afternoon leading to a game-high nine assists while
Autumn Gavin added her first-career double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
As a team, the Lazers forced the Royals into 16 turnovers while holding them to only 16 percent shooting from the floor.
Onondaga will return to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. when it takes on the fifth-seeded Jefferson who defeated fourth-seeded Fulton-Montgomery, 72-54, in the semifinal round of the Region III Championship in the SRC Arena and Events Center.
