The Onondaga Community College women's basketball team opened the 2015-2016 season on Thursday night, coming away with an 88-70 win at Genesee Community College.
Jordan Vaught led the Lazers with 21 points, including connecting on 3 of 4 attempts from 3 point range.
Samantha Roberts added 13 points and handed out 10 assists.
Melissa Bakowski chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds and
Hope DeFazio also reached double figures with 10 points.
The Lazers open the home campaign this weekend in the annual Onondaga Classic. Onondaga will face Dutchess Community College at 1 pm on Saturday in the SRC Arena & Events Center. Northampton Community College and SUNY Sullivan will meet in the second semi-final at 3 pm. Saturday's winners will play for the Classic championship Sunday at noon in SRC, while the losers will play in an 11:45 consolation game in Allyn Hall.
