Volleyball Overcomes Final-Set Deficit for Eighth Win

Box Score The Onondaga Community College volleyball team earned its eighth win of the season in comeback fashion after rallying from a five-point deficit in the fifth and deciding set to claim a 3-2 win over SUNY Broome on Wednesday at Allyn Hall.

After Onondaga swept the first two sets, the Hornets rallied, winning the third and fourth sets along with the game's momentum heading into the final frame.

Broome jumped out to a 10-5 lead but the Lazers began to mount a comeback of their own, eventually overtaking Broome en route to the win.

Isabella Winklestine led the charge with 14 kills, two assists and a pair of blocks.  Allison Massara nearly had a double-double after notching 12 kills and nine digs, while Jessica Cost posted a season-high 31 helpers to go along with four kills and four digs.

The Lazers, now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC), will face their next competition beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the SUNY Broome POD.
