Box Score The Onondaga Community College women's soccer team scored three first half goals en route to a 3-0 win over Cayuga Community College on Wednesday at David W. Murphy Field.
With the win, Onondaga earned its first win in Mid-State Athletic Conference (MSAC) and moved to 2-2-1 overall, while the Spartans dip to 1-2 overall and 0-1 against conference foes.
Onondaga wasted no time putting the visiting Spartans in the hole, scoring in the game's fourth minute when
Brie Fabrize gathered a loose ball and proceeded to rip a shot past Cayuga's goal minder to put the home team up 1-0.
Minutes later, the Lazers would double their advantage as
Alexandra Gallo centered a pass that found the foot of
Carlee Kingston who deposited her fourth goal of the season to put Onondaga up 2-0.
As the first half wore on, the Lazers continued to apply the pressure but were unable to pad their lead until the final seconds of the first frame when Fabrize lofted a crossing pass in front of the cage that
Bridget Field kicked in to give Onondaga a 3-0 lead as the halftime horn sounded.
As a team, Onondaga dominated at both ends of the field belting a season-high 35 shots while holding the Spartans to only one shot.
Margaret Choroser picked up her second win of the season to move to 2-2-1 overall after making one stop in net.
Rachael Gac lead all players with eight shots while Fabrize and Field each tallied six in the win.
The Lazers return to play at 1 p.m. on Saturday when they travel to Jamestown Community College.
