Box Score Carlee Kingston scored two goals for the Onondaga Community College women's soccer team on Saturday, but it wouldn't be enough as the Lazers fell to Anne Arundel Community College, 4-2. The game was the first of a two-game road trip for the Lazers in Maryland.
After falling behind 2-0 in the early goings of the first frame, Onondaga hunkered down on the defensive end of the field until late in the opening frame when the Pioneers scored again to hold a 3-0 advantage at intermission.
As the second half got underway, Onondaga's offense began to click as Kingston booted home the Lazers' first goal off a corner kick from
Victoria Burns. The West Genesee graduate would cut the deficit to one goal minutes later after converting another corner kick opportunity, this time off the pass from
Bridget Field with a redirect coming off the heels of
Rachael Gac, but that was as close as Onondaga would come as Anne Arundel tacked on another goal to claim the 4-2 victory.
The Lazers will wrap up their southern trip at 12 p.m. on Sunday when they face CCBC-Catonsville in Catonsville, Md.
